Centro Histórico is Mexico City's downtown, this area is where Tenochtitlan was founded (Aztec empire). The modern downtown was build on top of the ruins of the conquered city around the 16th century.

Walking around the main streets, you will find The Zocalo (main plaza), Museum of Templo Mayor, the Palacio de Iturbide , Palacio Nacional (the offices of the president), Colegio de San Idelfonso were you could admire murals painted by Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco and many other important buildings and historic sites.

About this activity:

We will meet at Bellas Artes and take you on a journey to 5 of the oldest (opened since 1900) and most popular "cantinas" of Downtown Mexico. You will taste the "Pulque" (alcoholic beverage made from the fermented sap of the maguey plant) and eat a delicious "Taco al Pastor" (meat taco).
